Hi, my PS3 is picking up my wireless Sky broadband but it wont connect. It won't even find its IP address. It was connecting last week then suddenly it lost its connection. It is worth trying a wired connection? I havent tried it yet because it means a lot of messing. Any ideas? Thanks Paul
Dec 24, 2009 · I recently re-install XP Pro w/SP3 and unable to connect through my wireless network. I'm still able to see the surrounding wireless networks around me but it stays on the "acquiring network address" screen and doesn't connect. Prior to the re-install I had no problems at all connecting to the network. 1) Connect your PS3 to your laptop with an ethernet cable. 2) Set your laptops ethernet IP to a static address, say 10.1.1.1. 3) Set your laptops DNS to 255.255.255.0 4) On your PS3 wired connection setup, enter all the same numbers like in the laptop, except IP to 10.1.1.2. 5) Complete setup. 6) Done! Hello, I just got my ps3 back and I have set everything up the way I think it says to but my ps3 won't obtain the IP address. It says "the key information exchange timed out" and won't go any further than that.
PS I tried using the same IP/Subnet etc as the wifi uses and the IP passes but then it won't connect to the server, also tried wiring my laptop and then doing a IPCONFIG/ALL and using that info, again IP then passes but it won't connect to the internet!
